The Novelty Warehouse, an online store selling sensory toys for children with special needs, celebrated its first birthday back in March. The store provides a range of toys – starting at pocket money prices – designed to aid positive play by stimulating the senses, encouraging communication and developing motor skills. Owner Liz Howard, whose son has special needs, opened the store after being dismayed at the price-tags on toys aimed at the special needs market. She won the Business Entrepreneur category in the Merseyside Woman Of The Year competition in 2008.
