




Springfield, IL- The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP) today announced the development of a new training curriculum, based on HBO Films’ recent movie release, “Temple Grandinâ€. The training is appropriate for use with caregivers, community members and professionals who interact with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs).
The training, entitled “Different…But Not Lessâ€, was created to accompany the movie, and provides stop points for discussions about behavior exhibited by the movie’s main character, Temple Grandin, who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism.
The training, created by Julie Alderman, M.A., from The Autism Program of Illinois and Camille Randall, PhD., from The Hope Institute for Children and Families, offers explanations for the character’s behavior, tools for working with individuals with ASDs, and additional resources.
