Acting classes set for autistic youth
Florida Repertory Theatre will offer ACT UP! Creative Concoctions, designed especially for students ages 8-11 with Autism Spectrum Disorders, beginning today and taking place every Tuesday evening (except Nov. 10) through Dec. 15.
There will be a class on Nov. 13 to replace the Nov. 10 class.
In the acting classes that take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m., students will explore their fun side with exercises in creative movement, verbal and non-verbal communication and social interaction. They will be taught by Rachael Endrizzi, Florida Rep’s education director, and assisted by Florida Gulf Coast University’s Occupational Therapy department.
The classes will take place in the Edwards Building at Alliance for the Arts, 10091 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers.
Cost of the eight-week course is $150. Enrollment is limited.
